While on placement during my MA in Social Work, I had a defining moment that changed my trajectory forever. I encountered two social work undergraduates teetering on the edge of leaving the profession. They were overwhelmed, disillusioned, and unable to see beyond the confines of local council roles. With my coaching skills, I helped them pivot, unveiling a world of opportunities rooted in global impact, entrepreneurial thinking, and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). For the first time, they were exposed to these forward-thinking ideologies—and it transformed their perspective on what a career in social work could be.

But the challenge didn’t stop there.

I also engaged with seasoned practitioners—rigid, uninspired, and resistant to innovation. They were entrenched in traditional methods, uncomfortable with creativity, and blind to the global possibilities their profession could embrace. This led me to groundbreaking research during my master’s program: integrating SDG frameworks into social work curricula in the UK.

My work was described by my lecturers as “innovative, out-of-the-box, and futuristic,” opening new doors for social work education and practice. It inspired me to create The Future Forward Social Work Impact Accelerator—a transformative program designed to empower students, practitioners, organizations, and universities to thrive beyond borders.

One of the greatest inspiration I got that very day was " You can be jack of all trades and master of all" citing example how she was able to manage office work with her business, and importance of time management. Obviously! Words have a way of shifting an individual mindset, I was not only motivated but I was ignited to begin to think out of the box. After the event, I went home not only inspired but fulfilled because I discovered I can build a niche then venture into several businesses. I must say today I am not only a graduate of Accounting but I'm also a serial entrepreneur.
